The Friends of Gatineau Park are pleased to invite you to admire the special tree that we have decorated as part of the Canadian Museum of Civilization’s annual Christmas Tree Decorating Challenge, and to vote for our tree.
The Friends of Gatineau Park are one of the local community groups invited to decorate a tree as part of a friendly competition to celebrate the festive season and to promote our organizations. Each group was given a 2.5 m (8-foot) tree and accompanying electrical supply; the rest was up to our imaginations!
All the colorful decorated trees are on display in the David M. Stewart Salon of the museum (Level 3, facing the Grand Hall) where the general public can admire them. The trees will be on display from November 30, 2011 to January 8, 2012, at which time the Canadian Museum of Civilization will announce the winner of the annual Christmas Trees Decorating Challenge. We invite you to go to the Museum and to vote for the tree decorated by the Friends!
To decorate our tree, we have chosen to represent the flora and fauna of the park as well as recreational activities that one could enjoy in the Gatineau Park.
We hope that you will take the time to see our tree as well as those of the other community groups. Thank you for your support, and enjoy the festive season!
