2013 RESEARCH FORUM – A REMARKABLE SUCCESS!

The Friends of Gatineau Park, in close cooperation with the National Capital Commission (NCC),  have coped with a significant challenge by organizing and offering to its membership and to the general public a genuine Research Month during November 2013.

Warmest thanks go to all presenters and speakers – Sarah Padbury, Dr. Paul Heintzman, Line Lapierre, Dr. Douglas King, Evan Seed, Alexia Leinenweber, Claire Banville, Marie-Michèle Dallaire, Michel Lemaire, Allison Eagen, Carol Martin et Linda Bardellwhich acted as true leaders of these days dedicated to the dissemination of information related to research projects conducted in the Gatineau Park.

We would also like to acknowledge the precious contribution of François Leduc & Louis-René Sénéchal from the NCC, as well as of volunteers from the Friends who have participated closely or from a distance in the organization and in the implementation of these events. Special and warmest thanks go to Marie-Michèle Dallaire from the Programming Committee of the Friends who has led this significant undertaking in a very capable and professional manner. Bravo Marie-Michèle!

This year, the theme for all presentations offered during the Research Forum surrounded the 75th anniversary of the creation of the Gatineau Park. All in all, 8 presentations grouped under 3 streams, namely recreation, conservation and heritage, took place and drew a crowd of approximately 30 people for each afternoon. See attached some photos taken during these events.

See you next year!
